With the festivities aside for yet another 12 months, we are looking onward to the New Year and as per usual, there are plenty of events, festivals and activities taking place in Bournemouth and Poole to captivate all during the first legs of 2016. However, if you’re still clinging on to the spirit of Christmas, or maybe you didn’t get the chance to participate in all of the festivities you had hoped to in 2015, don’t panic! The Bournemouth Lower Gardens Ice Skating Rink shall remain open until Saturday 23rd January. If you’re more of a spectator, the rink side chalets will be serving up a selection of hearty food, hot drinks and of course mulled wine and champagne. Various shows and pantomimes are also taking place across Bournemouth this month, notably Goldilocks and The Three Bears at The Regent Centre, profits from which go to local charities and Horrible Histories at The Pavilion, which cunningly combines thrilling special effects, unquestionable comedy and of course, history, to provide a unique and exciting learning experience for children. If you quite fancy reliving the triumphant, celebratory atmosphere of New Year’s Eve then why not pay a visit to the Chinese Winter Wonderland at The Boscombe Precinct. The event will feature an open-air market showcasing various international delicacies and garments, along with performances of a selection of traditional Chinese art forms, accompanied by workshops and games to keep the kids entertained, all in celebration of the commencement of The Year of The Monkey. If your New Year’s resolution is centred on shedding those pesky pounds after Christmas, you may be interested in a 2 day workshop we are hosting at The Cottonwood Boutique this month.
